New Macbook Pro 2011: 1st Impressions For a full rundown: www.technobuffalo.com Apple announced an update to its popular line of MacBook Pro computers this morning. The laptops now have high-speed Thunderbolt I/O technology (the same thing as the rumored Light Peak technology), an HD forward-facing FaceTime camera, Sandy Bridge Intel CPUs, and AMD GPUs. The SD slot on the computer now supports SDXC cards From Apple: "The new MacBook Pro brings next generation dual and quad Core processors, high performance graphics, Thunderbolt technology and FaceTime HD to the great design loved by our pro customers...Thunderbolt is a revolutionary new I/O technology that delivers an amazing 10 gigabits per second and can support every important I/O standard which is ideal for the new MacBook Pro." Besides those updates, you're looking at roughly the same MacBook Pro you could buy a week ago. The refresh is exactly that, a refresh, not really an overhaul of the computer. The computers are available now, and start at 99 for the 13-inch base model. Anyone thinking about buying a MacBook Pro now that they've seen the update?
